Over 200 nominations received by GESIA in 10 award categories in a stellar response from ICT industry in Gujarat
This is the highest number clocked ever with the spotlight ona quality and consumption driven ICT in the state

Ahmedabad, September 7, 2016:
In an overwhelming response, GESIA IT Association has received over 200 nominations in 10 categories for the upcoming GESIA Annual Awards for Excellence in ICT. To be held on September 29, the 9th edition of the awards this year is looking to handpick innovation, achievements and leadership excellence in Gujarat-based IT companies.

According to GESIA, the numbers achieved is the highest ever and reflects that Gujarat is the hotbed for ICT products, solutions, innovation and a startup culture. These have touched the lives of the common man translating into last mile connectivity. Contrary to popular belief, the state is a mature ICT hub and is a consumption-led industry, much forward-looking than other states and doing classified ICT work for local and global clients.

“Feedback received from the state-based ICT companies has impressed us. We are looking ahead with bated breath to the D-day as competition is stiff. Our panel of jury is working hard to pick the best. Those shortlisted will get an opportunity to make presentations directly before the jury and members of GESIA in a deviation from earlier years. This makes the entire process more transparent,” said Vivek Ogra, Chairman, GESIA IT Association.

Categories such as the Best Innovative ICT Solution or Product, Best ICT Start-up, Best Software Company, Best Workplace ICT or Electronics Industry, Best ICT Initiative in Public Sector Gujarat, Best ICT Initiative in Education Sector and Best ICT Solution or Product in CSR have seen good traction and a steady flow of companies nominating themselves.

According to Ogra, the voluntary nominations highlight that Gujarat is technology driven and beats the misnomer that it is only a BPO/KPO destination. ICT companies in Gujarat allow a cordial workplace environment to thrive. The state is way ahead in the highest ICT implementation in the public sector.

GESIA Annual Awards 2016 will be graced by honchos of Indian ICT. The day coincides with NASSCOM’s Executive Committee meet and top office bearers of the country’s premier trade association will be present. Top representatives from the Government of Gujarat will be there along with CxO’s of companies and prime ICT consumers.
